if you have your own gateway via mobile you can create a vpn to your home router no problem (depening on your router that is!) but saying that, you dont even need VPN to RDP, just forward the right port through your router and your sorted.

well, we use laptops " college.. so i juct ad-hoc my phone to it and away i go andn i couldnt set up a VPN at college...

adding a secondary modem would introduce a new gateway to your machine, this is an unnecessary obstacle, particularly for people like me who dial in and out of VPN’s Miles Faster to Open a connection to your Home PC over your uncontended gateway.
